Human anatomy & physiology laboratory manual, 9th ed.; fetal pig version.

Marieb, Elaine N. and Susan J. Mitchell.
Benjamin Cummings, ©2008    751+ p.    $114.80    QP44
978-0-8053-7265-6

This is the fetal pig version of a hefty wire-spiral-bound book/CD-ROM lab manual for students in introductory human anatomy and physiology courses. The lab experiences are designed to be relevant for students concentrating in nursing, physical therapy, dental hygiene, pharmacology, respiratory therapy, and health and physical education, as well as biology and premedical programs. The 46 exercises reflect the manual's dual focus on anatomical and physiological aspects, with most of the anatomical exercises followed by physiological experiments. The manual is independent of any textbook, so it contains background discussions and terminology necessary to perform all experiments. This ninth edition features new activities, many new and revised color photos and illustrations, an extensively revised histology atlas, and color-coded headings. Review worksheets are now placed directly after the exercises. The accompanying CD-ROM contains computer simulations, videos of actual lab experiments, and 77 physiology activities with matching slides. A companion Web site is also new. With its broad coverage, the manual can be used in a one- or two-semester course. Marieb is affiliated with Holyoke Community College. Mitchell is affiliated with Onondaga Community College.
