Psychology in the trenches; stories, strategies, and outcomes. (reprint, 2003)
Corson (psychology, Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School) includes new ideas about personality and case studies of the individuals first presented in his 1989 classic Stress, Self-Concept and Violence. He expands his descriptions to include work with clients who have no history of violent behavior, including combat veterans with severe post-traumatic stress disorder, people with panic attacks and sex offenders, showing how even a small mental health facility can gather appropriate and useful data and use it to craft treatment that will benefit the individual, whatever the number of patients or the severity of the condition.
