This reference contains information on 8,000 accredited educational programs in 77 health care professions, from art therapist to veterinary technologist. The majority of the text contains career descriptions that are composed of the development of the profession, duties and daily activities, the workplace or facility, salary ranges and employment outlook, and subjects of study in educational programs, their length, prerequisites, and typical course work. Legal and professional requirements for practicing in the profession and contact information for associations, agencies, and other organizations are incorporated. For each occupation, education programs are listed, which are in the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, and some other countries, and listed alphabetically by state and city, with contact information and the website address. Programs are also listed separately by state in the second section. Data was collected through an online survey and from health professions accrediting agencies. (Annotation ©2008 Book News Inc.
