Elder abuse; a public health perspective.
In this examination of elder abuse, Summers, a clinical psychologist and organizational effectiveness consultant, and Hoffman (Hartnell College) bring together 10 essays that take a Public Health approach to discussing how to manage the problem, its causes, and cultural factors. They also review values and ethical principles that are violated, risk factors, prevention and intervention, and identification. Other chapters focus on intimate partner violence and abuse against women, verbal abuse and neglect, sexual violence, and the Care Pathway Model. Contributors to the volume work in criminology, criminal justice, health, and related fields in the US. (Annotation ©2006 Book News Inc. Portland, OR)
