Inter-organizational information exchange, supply chain compliance and performance.
Peng (Wageningen University) combines theory in management and economics to present a conceptual framework for integrating information exchange with supply chain compliance, using the poultry supply chain in China as an ongoing example. An introduction gives background on supply chain collaboration, the food supply chain, and specifically the poultry supply chain in China and internationally; further background chapters review theories on transaction cost economics, inter-organizational communication, and supply chain management. Study results related to inter-organizational communication with suppliers and customers are reported, and the relationship between perceived communication benefits, supply chain compliance, and company performance is explored. The book is summarized in Chinese as well as English. The book's audience includes practitioners and policymakers in information, supply chain, and performance management.
