More turfgrass and related weeds; beyond the color atlas; a guide to weed identification for turfgrass, ornamentals, plant nurseries, roadsides, pastures, specialty areas.
McCarty and Hall offer a supplement to their 2001 Color Atlas of Turfgrass Weeds, focusing on weeds that may be locally common and economically significant, but not as widespread as those in the Atlas. Identifying a weed in the grass is the first step in integrated management, they explain. For each species they include all common names, lifecycle, description, propagation, habitat, distribution, and two to four color photographs. They also provide a glossary of taxonomic terminology and an index to common and scientific names. (Annotation ©2011 Book News Inc. Portland, OR)
