The settlers' war; the struggle for the Texas frontier in the 1860s.
In this present day climate of political correctness, Michno ventures outside the box to tell the forgotten history of the massacre of white settlers in the 1860s by Indian tribes. His intent is to bring awareness and accuracy to the events that occurred in Texas during the bloodiest decade of the Indian Wars without assigning blame to any group in particular. He contends that the conflicts were political and should have been battled out between the military and warring Indian tribes, and not by the innocent, non-combative settlers. The author presents an in-depth, different perspective, told from the settler's point of view. (Annotation ©2011 Book News Inc. Portland, OR)
