Exergy analysis and design optimization for aerospace vehicles and systems.
Researchers from the US Air Force, universities, and aerospace corporations explain how to apply a design approach with a common currency to flight vehicles in the form of exergy, which they define as the work available from an energy source. The chapters progress from basic theory through application to provide a thorough foundation for the proposed methodology, which essentially interprets and integrates thermodynamic theory. The topics include fundamentals of exergy analysis, entropy generation and aerospace vehicle performance, and numerical methods in light of the second law. (Annotation ©2011 Book News Inc.
