An insight into an insane asylum.
In 1881 Methodist minister Joseph Camp was admitted to Bryce Hospital, an insane asylum in Eastern Alabama. After his five month stay at the hospital, Camp was inspired by the horrific conditions of Bryce to write this book chronicling his experiences there. This new publication of Camp's original book includes an introduction by John S. Hughs. Camp's story offers readers fascinating insight into the conditions of mental institutions during the 19th century. This book appeals to those with an interest in medical history.
