About Book News

Book News prepares concise, descriptive reviews of new books in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities for librarians and other buyers of serious books. We cover titles from hundreds of English-language publishers worldwide, and we license our material to booksellers and aggregators. Please read our copyright statement and our disclaimers.

BACKGROUND

SciTech Book News began in 1976 as a small newsletter describing new science titles for librarians in academic settings. More than thirty years later, the Book News database holds over 300,000 reviews on scholarly books in all subjects, with over 18,000 new titles added annually. The reviews are distributed in both print and electronic formats.

PUBLICATIONS

Our previous publications, SciTech Book News and Reference and Research Book News have now been combined into a single bi-monthly publication under the Reference and Research Book News title.

ON THIS SITE

Publisher pages present the content of SciTech Book News and Reference and Research Book News arranged by publisher (rather than by subject as in the parent publications). We also offer pdf's of current issues for free download.
